AGORA Session at Natural Hazards Conference, Boulder Print E-mail

A special session of the Natural Hazards Workshop held at Boulder CO (USA) was devoted to Open Risk Analysis.  The session was standing room only and  focused on  current ORA initiatives, and included an open panel discussion on ORA needs and opportunities. The panelists were:

1. Charles Scawthorn, Kyoto University (Moderator)  who described ORA and AGORA
2. Keith Porter, Caltech, who discussed the development of OpenRisk
3. Edward Field, USGS, who presented OpenSHA ,  and
4. Cathleen Carlisle, FEMA, who  discussed FEMA's development of ROVER (Rapid Observation of Vulnerability and Estimation of Risk) and other Open Source initiatives by FEMA
